Youth Gatherings will be held on
Wednesday nights 7:00pm-8:00pm for all students aged:
6th Grade
7th and 8th Grades
9th-12th Grades
If you have a teenager who has NOT received one of the Sacraments of
Initiation (Baptism, Confirmation, and/or First Holy Communion), please
contact Joyce Hollowell at 406-656-5800 or joyce@stthomasbillings.org to get them registered for OCIA for Children.
Our OCIA for Children classes meet once per month, allowing your teenager to fully participate in our Wednesday evening Youth Ministry throughout the year. This approach provides a well-rounded faith formation experience by combining focused sacramental preparation with ongoing catechesis alongside their peers.
By participating in Youth Ministry each week, your child will grow in their understanding of the Catholic faith through prayer, Scripture, small-group discussions, service opportunities, and fellowship with other teens. The monthly OCIA sessions then build on this foundation by providing the specific instruction and formation needed to prepare for the Sacraments of Initiation. Together, these experiences help your teenager not only prepare to receive the sacraments but also develop a deeper, lasting relationship with Christ and become an active member of the parish community.
Expectations for Youth Group
While we strive for an environment filled with enjoyment, our primary objective is inclusivity. Aligned with the values of our Catholic Youth Group, paramount importance is given to kindness and respect. We seek your valuable support at home to reinforce the universal principle of treating each individual as they are made in the image and likeness of God. Encourage your youth to carry this mindset into their interactions at school, church, and beyond. Acknowledging that not every connection will be a close one, our goal is to foster a culture of kindness and respect even amidst differing personalities. This vital skill transcends into adulthood, impacting daily interactions. Prior to the next youth group session, kindly engage in a conversation with your youth about your family's perspective on respectful and kind behavior, contributing to the collective effort of reinforcing these values. Your involvement is deeply appreciated as we collectively strive to nurture a positive, growth-oriented, and enjoyable Youth Group experience.
